Many organisations and institutions that do incredible work in South Africa were “born” and incubated in Ohr Somayach.
Years after its founding, Ohr Somayach continues to lead in so many areas. It is the focal point of Johannesburg Jewry in many respects, and it is where the community looks for spiritual guidance, social activities across different age groups, and cutting edge Jewish education.
It is the place where Johannesburg Jews come together, to celebrate at times of simcha, and to pray at times of emergency.
