Celebrating 75 Years of JDA – Join the Challenge!
This year, JDA proudly marks 75 years of supporting the deaf community, a remarkable milestone that reflects decades of care, inclusion, and life-changing work.
To celebrate this special anniversary, we’re inviting everyone to get involved by taking on a personal challenge to raise funds and awareness for JDA.
Some of our incredible challenges already lined up include the Winnie the Pooh Walk at Aldenham Country Park the thrilling Edge Skywalk and abseil at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and taking part in the ever-popular Maccabi Fun Run, June 21st.
But the beauty of this campaign is that you can create your own challenge too — something personal and, meaningful to you
For 75 years, JDA has been a lifeline for deaf individuals and their families — breaking down barriers, reducing isolation, and creating opportunities.
By taking part in a challenge, you’re not just raising money, you’re helping to shine a spotlight on the deaf community ensuring that JDA can continue its essential work for years to come.
The Jewish Deaf Association (JDA) offers over 40 services, JDA provides lifelong support – from practical help for vulnerable Deaf and Deafblind people, including those with dementia, to a welcoming community hub offering social, cultural and educational programmes. Our services include lipreading and BSL classes, hearing therapy, outreach, and specialist technology support.
We also support families with deaf children through expert guidance, peer networks and fun, inclusive activities. Our, pioneering Engage service is leading the way in improving care for people with hearing loss in residential settings. JDA is here to ensure that no one faces hearing loss alone.
Family Services: Walking with families through every chapter
We provide specialist, culturally-informed family support services for Jewish families raising deaf children, combining professional expertise with lived experience. JDA families feel supported, empowered and understood from the very beginning.
JDA Family Services is run by Jody and Joanna, our specialist team, both of whom have deaf children of their own. They offer personalised, long-term support from diagnosis through childhood, adolescence, and into young adulthood. As 90% of deaf children are born to hearing parents, families often face unfamiliar decisions and challenges. JDA walks alongside them, offering trusted guidance, emotional support and practical help to ensure that each child receives the individualised support they need to flourish and reach their full potential.
Let’s make this anniversary unforgettable.
Challenge yourself. Raise deaf awareness. Change lives.
