Fair Shot was created to address the 94% unemployment rate among adults with learning disabilities in the UK by equipping individuals with practical skills, fostering independence, and promoting inclusive workplaces.

Mission statement: We challenge misconceptions about adults with learning disabilities, equipping both individuals and employers with the skills to build neuroinclusive, sustainable careers. By delivering, testing, championing and modelling neuroinclusion in hospitality, we are creating real solutions.

Key Programmes:

Supported Internship Programme: An 11-month holistic, immersive and structured work experience programme for young adults with learning disabilities to build employability and social skills, in our Covent Garden cafe.

Employment Programme: Supporting Fair Shot internship graduates as they transition into paid, sustainable and tailored employment, partnering with employer partners from a variety of sectors.

No one has solved the 94% unemployment rate for people with learning disabilities. But we believe we have built a model that works in ensuring that if someone with a learning disability wants to work, they can.

To date: 60 learners through our 11 month programme, 88% of those we’ve placed, are still in employment.

We are building the leading model for neuroinclusive employment in hospitality. Five years of delivery, refinement, and measurable outcomes have given us the evidence and credibility to expand, not just as a training programme, but as a system. Our learners will always come first. As we grow and scale, we will continue delivering high- quality, deeply personalised programmes; ensuring that every individual we support has the opportunity to thrive, and that we continue being experts in delivering our evidence-based model.

Our Five Year Impact Strategy:

Our Training Programme: 65 adults with a learning disability into a job every 5 years, and growing year on year.

SEND College Blueprint: Partner with London SEND colleges to share our barista training model, curriculum, toolkits and consultancy — creating a pipeline of job-ready graduates.

Contract Caterer Cafés: Partner with contract caterers to open Fair Shot-branded cafés incorporate offices — employing trained graduates from SEND colleges at scale

As Fair Shot celebrates its fifth birthday in September, we are using this opportunity to look back at how far we’ve come as well as look forward to our large impact plans going forward. We’re aiming to raise £100 000.00 to enable us to enter our next phase of impact while still ensuring we can deliver our ongoing programmes.
