For decades, we have recognised that Israel’s
border regions and periphery are more than just lines on a map – they are
living, breathing communities, home to pioneers who have chosen to build their
lives in some of the country’s most remote areas.
Today, these communities are at a critical
turning point. Following October 7th, hundreds and thousands of
Israelis were forced to evacuate their homes along the Gaza and Lebanon borders
– and only 75% of families have since returned.
This Green Sunday, we are asking you to
help us bring renewed strength and stability by donating to vital communities
on the country’s borders including:
In the South (Gaza Border): We are breathing
new life into shattered communities like Kibbutz Nahal Oz through gap-year
programmes, where young pioneers volunteer to restore daily rhythms and lead
rebuilding efforts.
· In the North (Lebanon Border): We are
refurbishing essential infrastructure, such as the Dishon community centre, to
give families the confidence and sense of belonging to return home.
· In the East (Jordan Border): We are investing
in leadership and education programmes to attract young families to this
remote, but vital, Arava region ensuring a thriving and sustainable presence
for the future.
· In the West (Egypt Border): We are
establishing and sustaining vibrant civilian life in communities such as Be’er
Milka by providing education, youth and communal facilities that enable
families to put down roots and build long-term resilience.
At a time when many of these communities
remain fragile, your commitment can make a real and lasting difference. Thank
you.
